Jessie's Kindergarten Curriculum 2012-2013
I have chosen to use traditional homeschooling with Jessie as we embark on this journey because of all the tremendous resources available for support nowadays. Homeschooling has come so far just in the last 6-8 years when the older kids were her age. I started the twins out this way, but with our schedule at the time and the fact that all three were essentially the same age, it became overwhelming rather quickly. I just didn't feel equipped...SO, I am super excited to give it another go with Jessie -- especially K-2 before I have to be official with her. I really am looking forward to the flexibility of hand picking her curriculum and appealing to her strengths and learning style.
We are continuing with the PA Cyber School program for our older children this year though I really would rather switch to a more traditional curriculum. Cyber school has been such a blessing in meeting our needs for them -- but we are at a place in life where I have so much more time to invest. However, they really love the pace, the classmates, and the simplicity.... I would prefer to switch Marcella to Sonlight. I think the literature based learning would be much more challenging for her and help her develop in areas of her strengths. But, maybe next year.
